Lucy is the Pennsylvania SPCA’s longest resident, having lived there for more than 930 days.
She first came through their Humane Law Enforcement in May of 2017 with her sister, Bella. Lucy has a big personality and a big heart. She loves to snuggle and has to much love to give, but all she needs is a family to give it to.
The SPCA wrote a letter to Santa from Lucy that explained to him her one and only Christmas wish: to find a forever home. Santa then came to the SPCA to meet her, and she was beyond ecstatic. As soon as she saw Santa standing there, she ran toward him, wagging her tail. Then she jumped up on him to give him kisses.
Santa definitely read Lucy’s letter, because he knew how much she loves real Milk-bones and brought her one to enjoy. A Milk-bone is great, but a family would be even better!
Lucy’s ideal home would have a bench outside or big couch inside for her to snuggle on and a backyard with room for her to lay out in the sun.
She may do fine with other dogs but must meet them first, and she can’t live with any cats. She also needs patient owners who will help her work through her fears, since she can be nervous around strangers at times.
