Dog With Cancer Searching For ‘Hospice’ Home So He Won’t Have To Die In Shelter

The Richland County Shelter in Mansfield, Ohio, is desperately searching for a hospice home for one of their rescue dogs to spend his final days.
Factor came to their shelter as a stray with a large mass on his back. When they brought him to the vet to have the mass removed, they received very sad news: Factor had a large mast cell tumor and was given six months or less to live.
They is now trying to find a home for Factor because they don’t want him to spend the rest of his life in the shelter. The person would be considered a hospice foster.
Shelter staff says Factor is extremely sweet and friendly. They will be testing him to see how well he does with cats and other dogs, but they want his incision to heal a bit more beforehand.
If you’re interested in opening up your heart and home to this dying pup, please contact the shelter.
You can visit Factor in the shelter at 810 North Home Road in Mansfield, and fill out a foster application.
